Jim in the media

Jim has appeared in the media for over the last 20 years offering guidance and help on a range of pet behaviours.

Jim will collaborate with you and your team to create regular or one-off media presences e.g. television appearances, radio slots, magazine and newspaper articles, on a variety of topics related to dog and cat behaviour and training, world trends in petkeeping, the impact of legislation, as well as the role of dogs in society

Jim regularly writes for Our Dogs Ireland, the leading canine magazine. He has contributed to national and local newspapers, DSPCA Buster magazine, various dog clubs newsletters and the SABBCI newsletter.Jim has covered topics including, moving home with your pets, separation problems and over-attachment, training issues and the correct use of equipment, how to settle new puppies, kittens or rescues into homes, the health benefits of pets to owners, how to safely take pictures of children and dogs, the social history of the dog in Irish Society as well as answering readers questions on behaviour.

    Jim has been the resident pet behavioural expert on the Pat Kenny show on RTÉ Radio 1, where he has helped listeners to solve any problem pet behaviours.

    He has also featured on the Last Word, 4FM Classic Hits with Trina Mara, and many local radio stations speaking on diverse issues such as dog fouling and local bye laws, trends in dog ownership and the rise of “designer” dogs, and preparations  for Halloween and  the safety of pets.

    Podcasts & Social Media

    Jim is a regular speaker on the PetBond Instagram channel answering canine behaviour problems as well as talking about current issues with dogs. 

    He has delivered webinars on noise phobias and fireworks for Interchem as part of their Veterinary Continuing Professional Development programme for veterinary surgeons, as well as video blogs for the Irish Kennel Club during the early months of the Covid 19 pandemic.

    He has presented seminars for the Irish Dog Groomers Association and will be presenting 2 webinars for their November 2020 online Conference.

    Jim’s own podcast is a 30-minute chat on pet topics, news, pups and kittens and people from the canine and feline world. Something for everyone with an interest in dog and feline matters.

    Television

    Jim has appeared on the Irish national TV stations RTÉ, TV3 and Virgin Media. He has featured on the Late Late Show, Nationwide, Afternoon Show, Ireland AM and Midday shows.

    Jim provided answers to young viewers’ questions on their pets as part of RTE’s Children elev8 programme section Pesky Pets. He appeared  on the Late Late show introducing Pat Kenny to a litter of Guide dog puppies,  and Virgin media  with both cats and dogs  talking about  pet care , behaviour and welfare, Halloween preparedness and noise phobias, dog legislation and likely impact on pets.
